▪ New Orleans-based Smoothie King has leased a 1,200-square- foot facility with a drive-thru for its first Harrisburg store, which will be owned and operated by Chris Magno and Brian Augustine. A leading smoothie franchise company, Smoothie King has more than 800 stores worldwide and more than 10 in Charlotte.
▪ Sports Clips, a men’s barber shop, has leased 1,200 square feet of shop space closest to Publix. The new store will be owned by James Bailey. ▪ Avalon Spa & Nails, a hair and nail salon owned by Dustin Nguyen, has leased 2,400 square feet next door to Smoothie King.
▪ Zammitti & Gidaly Orthodontics has leased a 3,000 square-foot building at Harris Square. This will be the third location for the orthodontic practice, which currently has offices in Concord and Davidson. Charlotte Pediatric Dentistry will share the building with Zammitti & Gidaly, creating a single location for pediatric dental services and orthodontics in Harrisburg.
Lat Purser & Associates, a commercial real estate firm with offices in Charlotte and Raleigh as well as Jacksonville, Fla., recently began construction on Harris Square. The shopping center will be located at the intersection of N.C. 49 and Harrisburg Veterans Road, across from Harrisburg Town Center. In addition to a 49,000-square-foot Publix store, the first phase of development at the center includes 15,600 square feet of shop space, two 3,000-square-foot retail buildings and six outparcels available for lease.
A grand opening for Harris Square is expected to take place in early 2018.
