Charlotte-based Trinity Consulting acquired by New York’s NFP Corp.

Charlotte-based Trinity Consulting has been acquired by insurance and benefits firm NFP Corp., New York-based NFP announced Thursday.

Trinity, a risk-management and employee-benefits firm, has offices in Carmel Executive Park off N.C. 51 in south Charlotte. NFP said it does not plan to reduce the size of Trinity's Charlotte workforce, which is about 30 employees. NFP also said it plans to continue growing in the Charlotte region and elsewhere.

The acquisition of Trinity, which has provided consulting and brokerage services to corporate clients since 2001, expands NFP’s property and casualty capabilities and adds scale to its employee benefits operation, NFP said.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We’re pleased to provide the types of services only available through a national firm, while keeping the personal, relationship-driven model we have locally,” Trinity CEO Alan Wise said in a statement.

NFP has more than 3,200 employees.
