S.C. law firm with Charlotte office changes names, management
A Columbia-based public finance and governmental law firm with an office in Charlotte has changed its corporate name following the departure of one of its founding members.
Now that co-founder Belton Zeigler has left, the former Pope Zeigler is now Pope Flynn.
“Belton can now focus on his energy and regulatory practice and he has chosen a law firm with the platform and resources to support him in those fields,” said Margaret Pope, the firm’s other founding member.
She and Zeigler started Pope Zeigler eight years ago, and the firm has grown from three attorneys to nine, and from one location to three.
The firm has offices in Columbia, Spartanburg and Charlotte.
Pope Flynn will be led by a management team of three of its members, Matt Davis, Lawrence Flynn and Joe Lucas, who is a senior public finance attorney based in Charlotte.
“We have a great group of lawyers,” Pope said. “We are excited about our new name and management team, and look forward to continuing to provide excellent service and valuable advice to our clients.”
