New Jersey-based NRT announced Tuesday it is acquiring real estate company Coldwell Banker United Realtors, including Coldwell’s operations in Charlotte.

Under the deal, the residential real estate brokerage company is buying Coldwell Banker United Realtors’ operations in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas. NRT said the 60 offices and 2,000 real estate agents it is acquiring will continue to operate under the Coldwell Banker United Realtors name.

The purchase includes about 200 agents in the Charlotte area, where Coldwell Banker United Realtors has seven offices. The deal also includes about 600 agents in the Carolinas.

NRT said the deal did not require federal regulatory approvals. Terms were not disclosed.

Bryan, Texas-based Coldwell Banker United Realtors was part of the network of independently owned affiliate companies that operated under the Coldwell name. Those affiliate companies are not part of Tuesday’s sale.
