Tom Strigus joined the design staff of International Kitchen and Bath, Davidson.
Gvest Capital, a real estate investment firm, hired Kirk Broadbooks as chief financial officer, Robert Titus as senior vice president of design and construction, and Julia Pererva as director of asset management.
The Charlotte Chamber Young Professionals named Kate Payerle, a lawyer at the firm of Robinson Bradshaw, as its chair. Amanda Pickens, also of Robinson Bradshaw, was named Young Professional Newcomer of the Year.
International Kitchen and Bath in Davidson recently won several design awards. Lisa Carlay and a team from Concord-based DP Contracting were awarded the CotY Charlotte Chapter award for the Best Residential Bath in the $25,000 to $50,000 range. The project went on to win the NARI CotY Regional award and was honored as Runner-Up at the National CotY awards.
Lisa Carlay of International Kitchen and Bath (IKB) in Davidson, and a team from Concord-based DP Contracting, won the Contractor of the Year award from the Charlotte chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. The winning project, for Best Residential Bath in the $25,000-to-$50,000 range, also won honors on the regional and national levels. IKB also won two 2014 Best of Lake awards from Lake Norman Homebuilders: Donna Werner, project designer, won Best Kitchen Remodeling project in the $50,000 to $100,000 category, and IKB owner Brian Tarle and Cornelius-based Sutton Place Interior Design won for Best Kitchen Remodeling project less than $50,000.
Deluxe Printing Group, Hickory, won a “Best of” award for its catalog for Highland House Furniture and a special judges’ award from the Printing Industry of the Carolinas.
Elizabeth Nisbet Miller of Charlotte, a site inspector for National Women Business Owners, will be honored by the U.S. Small Business Administration as 2015 Women’s Business Advocate for North Carolina during Small Business Week May 4-8 for her achievements on behalf of women-owned small businesses.
Sustain Charlotte honored 100 Charlotte area citizens and organizations for their efforts to address sustainability as part of the nonprofit’s “Charlotte 2030: A Sustainable Vision for Our Region” initiative and in observance of Earth Day. First-place awards were given in these categories: Envision Charlotte, energy; Green Teacher Network, food; Charlotte Reconnecting Ourselves with Nature (CROWN), land use; Youth Development Initiatives, social equity; B-cycle/Charlotte Center City Partners, transportation; Centralina Council of Governments, sustainable economy; Central Piedmont Community College, waste reduction; Autobell Car Wash, water; and Terry Lansdell, outstanding leader.
Seven advisers from GCG Wealth Management’s Charlotte office qualified for the 2015 Million Dollar Round Table, an association of financial professionals: Dennis Howe, Joel Burris, Andy Howe, Chuck Skipper, Ron Olsson, Jonathan Malone and Eric Welch. Four more GCG advisers from Charlotte qualified for the association’s Aspirant level: Schuyler Howe, Michael McFadden, Kevin Nervegna, and Kristine Pennington.
Attorney John Miller, principal of John R Miller, PLLC, was named a Super Lawyer for International Law for 2015. He was also selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2015.
Anthony Fox, a partner with Parker Poe, a business law firm, received the N.C. Hospital Association’s Trustee Service Award for 2015. A member of the Novant Health Southern Piedmont Region board of trustees, Fox serves as chairman of the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center board’s nominating committee.
McKim & Creed, which provides civil, environmental, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services, shared Florida Water Environment Association’s 2015 Reuse Project of the Year award with the City of Palm Coast, Florida, and Doosan Hydro Technology for their work on the Palm Coast concentrate zero liquid discharge project.
Victor Fetter, LPL Financial’s managing director and chief information officer, was included in Forbes Top 20 Social CIOs.
