Sealed Air to relocate top Diversey Care exec to Charlotte
Sealed Air, the maker of Bubble Wrap that is moving its headquarters to Charlotte, will relocate a top executive of its Diversey Care unit to Charlotte this summer from the Netherlands, according to a securities filing Tuesday.
Illham Kadri, president of Diversey Care, the cleaning products company Sealed Air bought in 2011, will end work in Amsterdam on July 31. She’ll start in Charlotte soon after, with a specific date “to be agreed upon to allow a smooth transition for your child to begin school in Charlotte this coming fall,” Sealed Air wrote in its offer letter to Kadri.
Kadri’s annual base salary will be $477,000, with an annual incentive bonus of 65 percent of base salary and long-term incentive program target of 160 percent of base salary awarded in Sealed Air stock. Her bonus is based on achievement, and she’s eligible for four weeks of paid vacation.
Sealed Air also said it’ll cover the cost of Kadri’s relocation, as well as one year of private school tuition for her child in Charlotte starting in the fall.
Within 45 days of Kadri’s start date in the U.S., Sealed Air also said it’ll pay her $31,650 in lieu of a car benefit and $90,000 to address the “potential missed opportunity of a Dutch tax advantage” on her 2013-2015 performance-based stock bonus.
Kadri has been with Sealed Air since January 2013 and before that was at Dow Chemical, where she held a number of executive positions. She is a chemical engineer who has a master’s degree in physics and chemistry and a doctorate in polymers/reactive extrusion.
Sealed Air, a Fortune 500 company, announced last summer it’s moving its headquarters to Charlotte from New Jersey, bringing with it almost 1,300 jobs. State and local incentives total about $43 million for the project. The manufacturer expects its new headquarters in southwest Charlotte will be finished by the end of 2016.
