Construction has started on The Edge@Sedgefield luxury apartments near the Harris Teeter shopping center on South Boulevard, developer Marsh Properties said Monday.
The complex on Haverford Place will offer 263 apartments with studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom options.
Amenities will include five courtyards, a dog wash, a pool and a rooftop terrace and sky lounge, according to a news release.
Thousands of new apartments have been built or are under construction in the South End area near the Sedgefield neighborhood, including 432 apartments at the former Pepsi Bottling site at the New Bern light rail station and 300 apartments at Solis Southline, located at Remount Road and South Boulevard.
“The Edge@Sedgefield will offer residents a sophisticated living experience located within walking distance of the light rail line and surrounded by the restaurants, retail and entertainment of Sedgefield and South End,” Jamie McLawhorn, president of Marsh Properties, said in the release.
Residents of the apartment complex will have access to the Sedgefield Shopping Center, anchored by Harris Teeter, and other tenants, such as breakfast restaurant Holler & Dash and oyster restaurant The Waterman.
