SwimMAC’s plans to build a new aquatic center at LangTree Lake Norman in Mooresville just got a little easier.
On Thursday, Pharos Hospitality, a Charlotte-based hotel developer, announced its $500,000 gift to the SwimMAC Carolina fundraising campaign would go toward the construction of the new aquatic center. The center will likely include a 50-meter competition pool, a training pool and seating for more than 1,500 spectators.
Pharos Hospitality is in the pre-construction phase of the development of a DoubleTree hotel at LangTree, which will be located adjacent to the planned aquatic center.
SwimMAC’s $6 million fundraising campaign kicked off in May 2014 at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center where it was hosting the Arena Grand Prix at Charlotte.
