Here’s who’s hiring in Charlotte amid COVID-19 crisis: Home Depot needs 175 people
As more businesses like restaurants and salons prepare to reopen Friday in North Carolina amid the novel coronavirus, other companies like Home Depot also need more seasonal workers.
The Home Depot is hiring 175 part-time and full-time positions across 10 stores in Charlotte, according to a company press release.
In-store associates will provide customer service, reinforce social distancing measures, support with overnight freight, and fill online and curbside orders. Distribution Center associates will load and unload product, pull orders for stores and operate forklifts, with training available.
Home Depot has added several safety measures amid the COVID-19 crisis including closing stores early for additional cleaning and sanitizing, canceling spring promotions to avoid driving traffic to stores, and reinforcing social and physical distancing.
The company also is offering temporary benefits that are available to new hires like weekly bonuses of an additional $50 per week for part-time workers and double overtime.
