South Charlotte Krispy Kreme lovers rejoice: A new store is opening in Pineville

Another “Hot Now” sign will soon light up at a Krispy Kreme store opening in the Charlotte area on the heels of last month’s new store in South End.

The Pineville doughnut shop will open Oct. 6 in a renovated building at 8800 Pineville-Matthews Road, a company spokeswoman said. The new Krispy Kreme will feature a fresh store design, digital menu boards and in‑shop self-service pickup.

During grand opening week, Krispy Kreme will randomly give customers one free dozen doughnuts every month for a year, according to a company news release.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks are required in the shop and the dining room will be open at a limited capacity, according to the company. There will be floor stickers and signs on restricted seating areas for social distancing.

Doughnuts can be ordered online for pickup or delivery within 10 miles of the shop’s location.

Krispy Kreme last month opened a new shop on Hawkins Street adjacent to its Global Project & Innovation Center, Charlotte Five reported. It includes the first-ever doughnut vending machine available 24 hours a day.

The company also opened a corporate office there last year, The Charlotte Observer previously reported.

There are about six Krispy Kreme stores in the Charlotte area, including Concord, Gastonia and Matthews, according to the company website.

Krispy Kreme is based in Winston-Salem, N.C., and has about 1,400 retail shops in 33 countries.
