A map showing the biggest companies in every state features Charlotte-based Bank of America among other large, well-known corporations.

The graphic, developed by communications provider Broadview Networks, uses data from Hoover’s to show the company with the largest revenue in each state in the last fiscal year (not the largest employer in each state, the Washington Post noted.)

Some of the other largest corporations include Kroger in Ohio, Nike in Oregon and Verizon in New York. Sonoco, which provides consumer packaging and industrial products, is South Carolina’s largest company, according to the analysis.

Bank of America employs about 15,000 people in the Charlotte area. The company made a profit of $4.8 billion last year.

Big banks like Bank of America and Wells Fargo, which has its East Coast hub in Charlotte, are cutting jobs as they try to reduce expenses at a time of low interest rates, increased regulatory costs and sluggish revenue growth. This year, for example, Bank of America laid off 250 mortgage and technology workers to cut expenses.
