Mattamy Homes names new president of Charlotte division

Homebuilder Mattamy Homes has named Mike McElroy president of its Charlotte division, effective June 8.

Most recently, McElroy served as division president for M/I Homes in Charlotte, and before that he was division president for Centex Homes in Charlotte and Tampa, Fla.

In his new role at Mattamy, McElroy will oversee the company’s business in the Carolinas.

“We ... look forward to (McElroy) taking the reins for Mattamy Homes in Charlotte to guide the division through an exciting period of growth,” Jim Leiferman, president of Mattamy’s US Group,” said in a statement released this week.

McElroy has a degree in building construction from the University of Florida.

Mattamy Homes is one of the largest privately owned homebuilders in North America. It has several Canadian locations and in the U.S., has offices in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Charlotte, Phoenix, Tucson, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa and Sarasota.

Some of the homebuilder’s projects locally include a residential development in Lake Wylie’s Five Points area and townhouses in the Berewick development in southwest Charlotte.
