Charlotte-based IT security firm Stalwart is being acquired by North State Communications, a High Point-based data center and cloud services provider.
The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of this year, North State said in a statement this week. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
North State said the acquisition of Stalwart, along with its 2011 purchase of IT solutions firm DataChambers, will help it move customers securely to the cloud – a challenge in today’s “hyper-connected, hyper-distributed IT environment,” the company said.
Bill Cooper, chief executive officer of Stalwart, will remain at the Charlotte firm’s helm. It is unclear how the deal will affect other Stalwart employees.
“It is exciting to think of the myriad ways our team will now be able to create additional value for our coveted and growing customer base,” Cooper said in the statement.
