The parent company of Bi-Lo is recalling cheese that could contain pieces of plastic packaging.

Southeastern Grocers – which operates Bi-Lo, Harveys and Winn-Dixie – announced in a statement the immediate recall of 12-ounce packages of Southern Home Fat Free American Singles in all Bi-Lo and Harveys stores. The recall does not affect Winn-Dixie stores.

The parent company said that as a precautionary measure, customers are urged not to eat the cheese and to return it to the stores for a full refund.

Bi-Lo and Harveys stores haven’t received customer complaints about the cheese yet, according to the statement.

The affected products have a UPC code of 0788001319 and a sell-by date of Aug. 16, 2015, through Nov. 16, 2015. Customers with questions about the recall can call Southeastern Grocers Customer Call Center at 866-946-6349.

Bi-Lo operates about 214 grocery stores across Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina, including about 25 stores in the Charlotte metro area. Harveys operates stores in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
