A Charlotte manufacturer is moving its headquarters to Fort Mill. Here’s where
A Charlotte manufacturer is heading south, to set up shop in York County.
Element Designs will invest $5 million and bring about 100 new jobs to Fort Mill in the next five years. That investment comes with the relocation of company headquarters and manufacturing from the Westinghouse Road corridor in south Charlotte.
Element Designs makes custom aluminum frame glass cabinet doors, custom glass and acrylic options. The company began in 2003. The company uses water-based coatings and recycled materials.
Company president and CEO Mike Uebersax called the move transformational for Element Designs in an announcement Tuesday, a state-of-the-art facility with room to grow. It’s close enough to allow opportunities for existing employees and will demonstrate how the company wants to be known.
“An innovative industry leader that produces beautiful products in a sustainable way,” Uebersax said.
The 7107 Logistics Lane site in Fort Mill is a new facility at almost 113,000 square feet. It will allow the company to serve the kitchen, bath and office furniture industries. Operations should be online in second quarter of next year.
Potential employees can submit resumes online by emailing jobs@element-designs.com.
In the announcement Tuesday, York County Council Chairwoman Christi Cox celebrated the decision by Element Designs to choose Fort Mill.
“We are pleased to see that they have found an ideal location in York County to continue to grow their manufacturing operations as well as establish their headquarters.”
The new site is near the Ross distribution site between U.S. 21 and I-77, south of the Carowinds Boulevard interchange.
