Embassy Suites has opened a new six-story hotel in southwest Charlotte.
Construction on the 170-suite hotel began early last year. It is in the Ayrsley mixed-use development at 1917 Ayrsley Town Blvd., off Interstate 485 about 11 miles from Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Embassy Suites Charlotte/Ayrsley has more than 13,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, including a 7,000-square-foot grand ballroom that can hold up to 430 people, according to a statement from the hotel last week.
The nonsmoking hotel also offers on-site catering and audio visual services for events.

Other hotel amenities include complimentary breakfast, free Wi-Fi, a heated indoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center and a 24-hour business center. The new Embassy Suites participates in Hilton HHonors, its parent company’s guest-loyalty program.
“With its upscale contemporary design and the brand’s renowned guest service experience, this beautiful brand-new hotel is an ideal addition to the rapidly-growing Charlotte-Ayrsley area,” John Rogers, global head of Embassy Suites Hotels, said in the statement.
Two other Hilton properties, the Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites, already operate in the 185-acre development at I-485 and South Tryon Street.
