New Charlotte airport parking option saves you time, money and hassle, officials say

Charlotte airport officials on Thursday announced a new parking option they say will save passengers time and money and hassles when finding a space.

Starting March 1 for arrivals, securing parking spaces from March 23 forward will only be available by booking online for the new Express Deck Self-Park, officials said on Twitter and CLTAirport.com.

The deck was formerly known as Express Deck 2.

Customers can book online at parkCLT.com and on the CLT Airport app.

They’ll pay a daily maximum of $16, and airport officials said the price may be lower the farther out you book.

After booking, take the entrance off Harlee Avenue and follow the yellow signs to Express Deck Self-Park, which is located at 5633 Wilkinson Blvd. Show the parking attendant the QR code sent via email and then enter the deck.

Express Deck Self-Park is beside Express Deck Preferred, formerly Express Deck 1 at 5625 Wilkinson Blvd..

A shared shuttle bus in front of Express Deck Preferred will take passengers from both decks to and from the terminal.

“CLT continues to modernize its parking facilities by providing quick and easy parking options,” officials said in its announcement.

All other CLT lots and decks include spaces for drive-up customers first-come, first serve, and those who booked their parking online.

The airport has more than 21,000 public parking spaces.

Passengers can save up to 60% by booking their parking online, officials said. That also guarantees you a space.
