Chiquita Brands International is relocating some of its Charlotte-based jobs to Florida, following its acquisition by two Brazilian companies earlier this year.
The company had previously said it planned to close its Charlotte headquarters and relocate or eliminate about 320 jobs. Cutrale and Safra Group, a juice company and banking conglomerate, took Chiquita private after paying $681 million for the company.
The Orlando Sentinel reported Thursday that Chiquita is moving its Fresh Express salad division to central Florida, near Walt Disney World. The Chiquita Bananas division’s main office will be near Port Everglades, near ports and ships that handle many of the company’s imports.
A Chiquita spokeswoman confirmed the news. Stefanie Goodsell said the relocation will impact about 150 to 200 jobs.

Chiquita was lured to Charlotte from Cincinnati in 2011, in part with the promise of more than $22 million worth of state and local incentives. The company and state and local governments have said Chiquita will repay any incentives received as part of the deal.
