Frontier Airlines expands again in Charlotte, adding new East Coast destination
Frontier Airlines is continuing to increase its presence in the Charlotte market with new nonstop flights going to Boston, the company announced on Thursday.
The route between Charlotte Douglas International Airport and Boston Logan International Airport will occur daily, according to the low-fare carrier. Frontier will start service on Aug. 13.
The Denver-based company is adding the New England connection to a list of other new routes announced this year from Charlotte Douglas. Before Boston, Frontier advertised a new route from CLT to Miami, starting July 5.
In May, the airline started new nonstop flights to the Cincinnati region.
And earlier this year, Frontier announced service to six U.S. cities and one Caribbean destination for the spring and summer. Those destinations are: New York/LaGuardia; Houston-Bush; Dallas-Forth Worth; Chicago O’Hare; Baltimore-Washington; Buffalo, New York; and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
In addition to Charlotte, Frontier also added direct flights from Boston to Atlanta and Dallas-Fort Worth.
Flying out of Charlotte
Charlotte Douglas broke records for passenger travel last year, with 53.4 million passengers catching flights from the airport.
Charlotte’s airport also ranked as seventh-busiest airport worldwide for arrivals and departures, according to the Airport Council International’s preliminary rankings for 2022.
Frontier is another option for passengers for the airport dominated by American Airlines, which accounts for about 90% of all flights out of Charlotte Douglas.
Introductory fares to Boston start at $39, according to Frontier. Additional information about blackout dates and other restrictions are available on Frontier’s website, www.flyfrontier.com.
