If you see a lot of police cruisers around Charlotte’s airport on Wednesday, don’t worry. It’s just a drill.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport will be conducting a full-scale emergency exercise on Wednesday, CLT officials announced Tuesday.

When and where are the Charlotte airport drills?

The drill will held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Concourse A expansion area, which is under construction.

Multiple airport, law enforcement, medic, fire and federal workers will be involved in the exercise to test the coordination and response capabilities of the agencies during emergency situations.

Will the CLT drills impact my flight?

First responders will conduct activities in a controlled environment away from public areas, the airport said. It will not impact operations for Charlotte passengers.

The airport said people at the airport might see activities, emergency vehicles and personnel on airport roadways around Concourse A. They will be part of the scheduled exercise and are not a threat.

Signs will be set up on Josh Birmingham Parkway to let drivers known about the exercise.

Can I watch the CLT drills?

No. The event will be closed to the public and also to media outlets.
