Spectrum customers will get free Max (HBO) & internet speed upgrades. What to know
Spectrum recently announced several upgrades for internet and TV customers.
The provider is increasing internet speeds and offering additional entertainment options for people who have one of the company’s TV packages, all for no additional fee.
Here are details on the deals.
Spectrum makes internet speeds faster for customers
All Spectrum Internet and Spectrum Internet Ultra customers will have their internet speeds automatically increased by 100 Mbps each to 400 Mpbs and 600 Mpbs, respectively — a free upgrade, according to a Sept. 16 news release.
The company also announced policies to keep customers connected. For example, Spectrum will send technicians to repair disruptions the same day customers make service requests, as long as the request is made before 5 p.m.
Agents will also offer credits for a full day for any neighborhood that experiences an outage lasting longer than two hours.
“With approximately 100,000 employees, our customers are also our friends, family and neighbors, and we hold ourselves accountable to them,” Cliff Hagan, an executive vice president for customer operations for Charter Communications, Inc., said in a news release. “If we are charging for a service, it should work all the time; if it doesn’t, our customers should trust that we’ll make it right.”
Spectrum customers will get free Max (HBO), Discovery+
The provider is also offering customers more entertainment options.
For no extra fee, people who have a TV Select package will have access to Max (HBO), Discovery+, BET+ and AMC+ content with ads, “through a mutually beneficial new arrangement” between Spectrum and Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. This is available to current and new Spectrum TV customers.
“WBD’s creativity and commitment to a healthier video ecosystem further enables us to deliver on our core principles to create value and choice for customers,” said Chris Winfrey, the president and CEO of Charter Communications, said in a news release. Charter operates Spectrum.
The new free streaming perks will be available soon, according to a Spectrum spokesperson, but no exact date was given.
This marks the latest streaming service addition to Spectrum’s lineup. The company previously announced a renewal of its distribution agreement with AMC Networks, allowing customers to view AMC, BBC America, IFC, SundanceTV and We TV content at no extra charge.
Spectrum TV customers also have free access to ESPN+, Paramount+ with Showtime and an ad-supported version of Disney+.
