Atrium Health secures lease for new spot at Farmington center in Charlotte area
Atrium Health is expanding its footprint in the Charlotte area with a new location near Rocky River Road.
The company signed a lease to take up space at Farmington, a planned development in both the town of Harrisburg and city of Charlotte, according to real estate firm MPV Properties. Atrium is planning to use more than 8,000 square feet of space for a primary care practice at Farmington’s Small Shops II center.
It will have five full-time providers, a lab and X-ray services, according to Atrium. The purpose is to improve access to care for the growing community.
Atrium will share the building with Community Veterinary Partners. The pet care service signed a lease for 4,494 square feet.
Construction is underway, according to MPV. The building is scheduled to be ready in the summer or fall for Atrium to make changes to accommodate clients.
The Farmington development by Interstate 485 includes a mix of townhomes, single-family homes and apartments. Small Shops II has tenants like Chick-fil-A, Dunkin,’ Harris Teeter Fuel and health care facilities. MPV is also looking for tenants for the nearby Farmington Ridge Shops, a 27,000-square-foot project.
Farmington’s total area will take up 185 acres of space when it’s complete — the equivalent of 14 football fields.
The addition of Atrium shows MPV’s commitment to offer diverse services to area residents, said Morgan Lucas, MPV development associate, in a news release.
Atrium Health is a part of Charlotte-based Advocate Health. The hospital system is the third-largest nonprofit health system in the U.S. and serves about 6 million patients. More than 155,000 employees work in 68 hospitals and over 1,000 health care locations.
