Plane enthusiasts can win a chance for an up-close look at Charlotte Douglas Airport

Charlotte’s airport offers aviation enthusiasts a place to watch planes come and go at its overlook, but they now have a chance to get a little closer.

As a holiday giveaway, Charlotte Douglas International Airport is offering the opportunity to get on the actual runway and see how CLT works behind the scenes. The winner and their guest will be allowed to show off their experience by taking pictures of aircraft with the Airside Operations Team.

To enter the VIP Plane Spotter Giveaway, participants have to find a hidden QR code in a secret location at the CLT Overlook at 5130 Airport Overlook Drive.

The contest ends at 11:59 p.m. Dec. 15, and the winner will be announced at noon on Christmas Day.

A winner and their guest must be 18 years of age or older, pass a background check and will need to live in North Carolina or South Carolina to participate in the VIP experience.
