Manufacturer in Vietnam expands to US, bringing nearly 50 jobs to the Charlotte region
A Vietnamese manufacturer is expanding to the U.S. and creating dozens of jobs by putting its first manufacturing facility in the Charlotte region.
Ever Home Plastics LLC, a subsidiary of Vacane Home Concepts Inc., will invest $3.65 million in the Mid-South Industrial Park in Salisbury, Rowan Economic Development Corp. said Thursday. Operations are expected to begin in January at 7401 Statesville Blvd.
The North Carolina factory complements its existing operations in Vietnam, Rowan EDC said. Ever Home’s parent company Vacane Home is privately owned and based in China.
Ever Home will create 46 jobs over four years with an average annual salary of $57,826, which is higher than Rowan County’s average of $50,138.
Ever Home manufactures plastic injection molds for home organization products supplied to retailers such as The Container Store, Walmart, Target, Lowe’s, Dollar General and Family Dollar.
Ever Home did not receive any local tax incentives for its North Carolina investment, Rowan EDC spokeswoman Mollie Ruf said. The only state incentive is in education training through the local community college.
Vacane has factories in Vietnam and China, according to the company’s website. North Carolina’s factory will be partially automated. The U.S. site’s advantages include shortened domestic delivery and cost savings on tariffs and freight and inventory warehousing, Vacane’s website shows.
Founded in 2006 in Ningbo, China, Vacane Home Concepts Inc. has more than 290 patents across various product lines. It’s U.S. office is in Dallas, Texas.
Last month, Vacane and The Container Store, based in Coppell, Texas, announced a manufacturing partnership, the first licensing of The Container Store brand internationally.
