The company is working with A M King, a design-build firm with headquarters in Charlotte.

Subsequent work will include development of a research and development flavor lab, pilot lab, quality control lab and two applications labs.

The new facility will increase Custom Flavors production capacity, with shorter lead times and reduced freight costs as its customer base grows.

Custom flavors is taking over the West Winds facilities from S&D Coffee & Tea, a private label supplier to chains like McDonald’s, Dunkin’ and Bojangles.
