New dean named at Queens University’s McColl School of Business
Dr. Richard Mathieu is the new dean of the McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte, the school announced Wednesday.
Mathieu replaces Ron Shiffler, dean since 2012, who has retired, the school said.
Mathieu comes to Queens from James Madison University in Virginia, where he was associate dean for academic affairs in the College of Business since 2011. His accomplishments include attaining accreditation for the JMU College of Business through the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, successful partnerships with local business leaders, alumni and university supporters, and building highly-functioning advisory boards, according to Queens.
“Dr. Mathieu has a passion for student learning and a leadership style that is collegial and collaborative,” said Lynn Morton, provost and vice president for academic affairs. “We’re lucky to have him here at Queens.”
