Charlotte developer scoops up 178 acres in big Rock Hill industrial park
The Keith Corporation, a company that’s developed some of Rock Hill’s biggest business sites, has plans for another large addition.
The Charlotte-based commercial real estate firm bought 178 acres off Hopewell Road for the final phase of the Legacy Park East industrial park. Legacy Park East is a seven building, more than 850,000-square-foot park that started construction in 2017.
The new phase could add much more.
The development could have three to seven buildings with up to 1.7 million square feet of manufacturing or distribution space. Individual tenants could use from 100,000 to 1 million square feet.
“The site provides a lot of flexibility,” Keith Corporation Vice President of Industrial Matt Giannuzzi said in announcing the property acquisition.
The company bought the property for $6.1 million last August, according to York County land records.
The property would allow for warehouse, distribution and light manufacturing work. New businesses would join other Legacy Park companies, including Pratt Industries, Ross Stores, Pepsi, Scentsy and Elite Logistix.
The project’s new phase is being marketed as three buildings. The largest is more than 1 million square feet. The others are nearly 390,000 and more than 270,000 square feet.
