What to know about Truist’s next CEO, from Bank of America to Boys & Girls Club
In September, Michael Lyons is taking over as CEO of Truist, one of Charlotte’s big three banks.
Lyons, now the former CEO of the fintech Fiserv, will replace Bill Rogers, who is retiring in April and will remain with Truist as executive chair of the bank during the transition.

Lyons joined Fiserv in 2025 as president and CEO-elect, and assumed the role of chief executive officer and member of the board in May 2025.
“I have known the company for a long time as an investor, banker and technology service provider, and look forward to advancing Fiserv’s 40-year track record of success,” Lyons said at the time, according to Banking Dive.
How Lyons prepared to lead Truist
Prior to joining Fiserv, Lyons served as president of PNC Financial Services Group where he led PNC’s lines of business. He was also central to developing the bank’s treasury management platform and diversifying its advisory and industry offerings. The 2020 BBVA USA deal was worth $11.6 billion, Banking Dive reported.
