Honeywell completes spin-off into three companies. Just one remains in Charlotte.

Honeywell announced its final spin-off Monday, and now has split into three publicly traded companies.

The conglomerate, which was formerly headquartered in Charlotte, is now divided between Charlotte-based Honeywell Technologies, Phoenix-based Honeywell Aerospace and Morris Plains, New Jersey-based Solstice Advanced Materials.

Honeywell Technologies develops automation solutions for the industrial sector. This new edition of the business will include a focus on controls, intelligence and safety, according to a statement from Honeywell.

Here’s what else we know about the new structure.

Honeywell Aerospace is final piece in the spin-off

After the original company shared plans to spin off its advanced materials business in October 2024, Solstice Advanced Materials was established the following October.

In February 2025, Honeywell announced its continued division by separating its automation and aerospace businesses.

HONA stocks now traded on the Nasdaq

Honeywell Aerospace CEO Jim Currier rang the Nasdaq opening bell on Monday morning.

“We have earned the trust of more than 10,000 customers over generations. We don’t take this lightly, and we will continue to build as a stand-alone aerospace and defense company,” Currier said at the ceremony.

Nasdaq President Nelson Griggs said that 90% of the world’s aircrafts carry Honeywell Aerospace technology and 80% of satellites in orbit contain its components.

Honeywell Technologies shareholders will receive one share of Honeywell Aerospace common stock for every two shares of Honeywell Technologies stock owned, according to a statement from the company. To be eligible, investors must have held shares at the close of business on June 15.

Honeywell employment numbers

Honeywell Aerospace has more than 36,000 employees. Before the spin-offs, Honeywell employed 97,000 people and 1,150 were based in Charlotte.

Honeywell did not immediately reply to request for comment on the number of employees remaining in Charlotte.
