German real estate firm opens first Charlotte office

Carolinas Metro Realty has partnered with German real estate firm Engel & Völkers to open the international brand’s first Charlotte office in Ballantyne.

The firm specializes in the sale and lease of premium residential and commercial properties, and its new local office is at 11220 Elm Lane. Carolinas Metro Realty became the license partner of the German firm and will do business as Engel & Völkers South Charlotte.

The new office employs 31 agents and is owned by Yuriy Vaynshteyn, a longtime Charlotte resident, and Frances Bryant is its managing broker.

The pair is already is planning additional openings in Lake Norman, SouthPark and uptown Charlotte in the next year, according to a statement from the firm this week.

The firm said it’s attracted to the Charlotte market because of its range of cultural, restaurant and retail offerings, low cost of living, lakefront properties and a growing millennial population. The company said it is also drawn to Charlotte because it’s a hub for several Fortune 500 corporations, including Bank of America and Duke Energy.

“With significant cultural activities, notable restaurants, family-oriented lifestyle offerings, access to a large international airport and renowned quality of life, Charlotte is truly a large city with small-city charm,” Bryant said.

The new shop held a grand opening this week with a ribbon cutting and a speech from Anthony Hitt, chief executive officer of Engel & Völkers North America.

The Hamburg-based firm also has new shop openings planned in several other American markets including Atlanta, Austin and Houston.
