The Rotary Club of North Mecklenburg honored Sandi Vizner, president of Lapis Financial Strategies, Inc., of Cornelius as Rotarian of The Year.

Cornelius-based Artisan Signs and Graphics, an advertising and marketing company specializing in brand promotion, made Inc.com’s 2015 list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. for the first time. The listing reflects a three-year growth of 79 percent since 2012, according to owner Scott Crosbie.

CoaLogix, a provider of catalyst regeneration and management for the coal and gas industries, received SHARP certification from the State of NC Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) for its exemplary worksite safety and illness and injury prevention program.

Charlotte architecture firms ADW Architects and Ware Bonsall have merged to share a focus on justice architecture, including the design of jails, courts and prisons. ADW Architects also serves faith-based, government, entertainment and other sectors.

Three attorneys from DeVore, Acton & Stafford PA were selected as 2015 North Carolina Super Lawyers: Fred W. DeVore, III, William D. Acton, Jr., and Troy J. Stafford. Tom Bullock of WFAE Radio was selected for a 2016 political reporting partnership, a collaboration between National Public Radio and 17 public radio stations across the country to strengthen local and national coverage of the elections next year. MetLife raised $30,000 for Easter Seals UCP of North Carolina and Virginia to support the nonprofit health agency’s therapeutic, educational and residential services for children and adults with cerebral palsy and other permanent disabilities.
