Ted Messmer named president of Carlisle’s brake and friction unit
Charlotte-based manufacturer Carlisle Cos. on Thursday said Karl “Ted” Messmer has been appointed president of its brake and friction business unit, replacing Matt Dietrich, who left the company to “pursue other opportunities.”
Messmer’s appointment is effective immediately, Carlisle said. A former Army captain and aviation officer, Messmer served most recently as vice president and general manager of Belden Inc.’s Enterprise Networking Division, which consisted of manufacturing plants, research and development facilities and global commercial operations.
Messmer is a West Point graduate with an MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.
Carlisle, which employs about 80 people at its Ballantyne headquarters, is a diversified manufacturer whose products are categorized in five business segments: construction materials, interconnect technologies, fluid technologies, brake and friction systems and food service products.
