Duke Energy buys stake in California energy management firm
Duke Energy has bought a majority stake in Phoenix Energy Technologies, an Irvine, Calif., energy management company.
Phoenix helps commercial customers reduce their energy use with data analytics and advanced software. The company started in 2004 and has 63 employees.
Phoenix will continue to operate independently, Duke said. Terms of the deal were not announced.
Duke bought a majority interest in a California commercial solar company, REC Solar, earlier this year.
