Classic car dealership RK Motors extends Charlotte lease

RK Motors Charlotte, a classic car dealership, has signed a seven-year lease extension with Beacon Partners to stay in its space at 5527 Lakeview Road.

The facilities in north Charlotte include a showroom, corporate offices and automotive service area. The location also houses the private collection of NASCAR team owner, Rob Kauffman, who this summer bought a share of Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates.

In a statement, RK Motors’ co-founder Joseph Caroll said the company re-committed to Charlotte after reaching a number of key benchmarks, including two sales of more than $1.5 million.

RK Motors gained attention this year when Carroll was sentenced to five years’ probation on federal mail fraud and identity theft charges in Ohio. The case wasn’t related to RK Motors, and Carroll remains president of RK Motors’ parent company.
