Payment processing firm PayPal said Wednesday that it is considering opening an East Coast operations center in Charlotte.
The company is also looking at other cities, and hasn’t made a decision, an executive said. No decisions have been made.
“While we can confirm that PayPal is considering possibly opening an east coast operations center and is looking at several cities including Charlotte, we have nothing to announce at this time,” said spokeswoman Martha Cass, in a statement.
PayPal was formerly a wholly owned subsidiary of eBay, but the company spun off into an independent, publicly traded company in July. The California-based company runs an online payments system.
