MacLean Curtis to build larger plant in Mooresville

A global manufacturer of automotive transmission and safety components has run out of room at its longtime Cornelius plant and plans to invest $30 million in a larger facility in Mooresville.

MacLean Curtis plans to build a 97,000-square-foot plant on 24 acres in the town’s newest business park, Mooresville Business Park East.

The company will employ up to 150 full-time workers, 50 more than at its current 51,00-square-foot plant on Zion Avenue in Cornelius. The company has operated in Cornelius for 33 years.

“We’re looking forward to our Cornelius team continuing to grow and thrive in our new Mooresville operation,” MacLean-Fogg president Duncan MacLean said.

MacLean-Fogg Component Solutions is a division of the MacLean-Fogg Co., which employs 3,500 workers at 35 sites worldwide.
