SouthPark’s BSN medical acquires Pennsylvania-based Wright Therapy Products

BSN medical, a medical device company with U.S. headquarters in SouthPark, has acquired Oakdale, Penn.-based Wright Therapy Products, a manufacturer of compression devices used to treat chronic swelling.

BSN medical is based in Germany and specializes in wound care and orthopedic products. It has been expanding its portfolio of compression products, recently with the acquisition of Bryan, Texas-based FarrowMed in June and Seattle-based JoViPak in August.

The deal closed Nov. 23, BSN said in a statement this week. Wright Therapy Products will become part of BSN’s wound care and vascular franchise. Other terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Wright Therapy deal makes BSN a full-solution provider of lymphoedema care products and further expands its portfolio of products to treat chronic venous insufficiency, BSN said this week.

As part of the deal, BSN obtains Wright Therapy’s trademarked Comply Care disease management program. BSN also said it will benefit from Wright Therapy’s existing U.S. direct sales force.
