A supply chain service provider called PLS Logistics Services opened its first Charlotte office uptown on Monday. The company says it expects to grow the local team from 20 currently to 200 over the next several years.

PLS’s new office is in the Fifth Third Center Building at 201 North Tryon St., Suite 1500, according to a statement this week.

The company picked Charlotte as the location of its 12th U.S. office because of its “access to quality and professional talent, which is the key to PLS’ growth and expansion strategy,” PLS said.

PLS is a Pennsylvania-based company that provides logistics management, brokerage and technology services for the shipping industry.

“By adding new employees in the area, we will be able to tap into the strong sales talent that Charlotte offers and better support our shipping and carrier partners,” said Greg Burns, PLS’s chairman, president and chief executive officer.

The company said interested applicants can apply immediately at plslogistics.com/careers or by contacting McKenzie Roark at eroark@plslogistics.com. Prior logistics industry experience is not required, PLS said.
