Electrolux Chief Financial Officer Tomas Eliasson is resigning from the company to pursue an “external opportunity.”

The Swedish appliance maker, which has its North American headquarters in Charlotte, said Friday it is currently looking for a replacement for Eliasson. He will remain with the company for up to six months.

Eliasson is the latest executive to leave the company after General Electric called off the proposed $3.3 billion sale of its appliance unit to Electrolux in December. Last week, the company said Chief Executive Officer Keith McLoughlin will retire Feb. 1.

“We want to thank Tomas for his important contributions to Electrolux and wish him all the best in his new endeavor,” McLoughlin said in a statement.

Eliasson has held his current position since 2012. Before that, he was CFO at Assa Abloy AB and Seco Tools AB.
