Swedish appliance maker Electrolux has proposed the election of Jonas Samuelson, Ulla Litzén and David Porter to its board of directors ahead of its annual meeting April 6.

Electrolux, which has its North American headquarters in Charlotte, also has proposed the re-election of existing board members Ronnie Leten, Petra Hedengran, Hasse Johansson, Bert Nordberg, Fredrik Persson and Ulrika Saxon, according to a statement Monday.

Samuelson became president and chief executive officer of Electrolux on Feb. 1, succeeding Keith McLoughlin, who resigned. Samuelson joined Electrolux in 2008 and previously was head of the business area Electrolux Major Appliances Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Ulla Litzén is a board member at Alfa Laval AB, Atlas Copco AB, Boliden AB, Husqvarna AB and NCC AB. She previously was president of W Capital Management AB.

Porter is corporate vice president for retail and online stores at Microsoft Corp. and previously served as head of Worldwide Product Distribution at DreamWorks Animation SKG.

Board members Lorna Davis and Torben Ballegaard Sørensen have declined re-election, Electrolux said.
