United Way exec named new head of Cabarrus Chamber

The Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce has named Barbi Jones its new executive director, effective April 1.

Jones currently serves as the chief communications and engagement officer at United Way of the Central Carolinas in Charlotte. She also has experience at Craven & Company Realtors, Habitat for Humanity Cabarrus County and the Junior Charity League of Concord.

“This is a home run for the chamber,” board chair Tim Vaughn said in a statement this week. “Barbi knows the business community well and will hit the ground running, adding value to our membership.”

The Cabarrus Regional Chamber has more than 600 members and works to promote business initiatives in Concord, Kannapolis, Mount Pleasant, Harrisburg, Midland and Cabarrus County.
