Chicago firm acquires Matthews-based Integra Employer Health

Matthews-based Integra Employer Health said Tuesday it is being acquired by Maestro Health, a Chicago-based employee benefits company.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Integra was founded in 1983 as Benefit Management Services. The private company is a group medical benefits administrator that employs 128 people in Matthews.

According to a recent statement from the two companies, Maestro is launching a next-generation, self-funded private exchange model for designing, planning and executing employee health and benefits programs. The Integra acquisition is intended to advance the new exchange.

Integra’s headquarters are at 2425 Crownpoint Executive Drive, Matthews.
