Colorado craft brewer New Belgium is delaying the opening of its Asheville brewery from March to May.
The Coloradoan of Fort Collins reports that New Belgium Brewing Co. announced Wednesday that construction of its 133,000-square-foot facility is taking longer than expected. Earlier this year, the brewery pushed the opening of its East Coast site from February to March.
Spokeswoman Susanne Hackett says test brewing in Asheville has started and the company hopes to start producing its popular Fat Tire and other beers for the East Coast market “real soon.”
Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. and Colorado-based Oskar Blues have already expanded into the Asheville area.
