Tell your company’s story through a Top Workplaces nomination

Within the Top Workplaces survey, there’s a category called interesting facts, where companies share details about their backstory.

Here are some tidbits about companies in last year’s survey that others may not know:

▪ From transportation company Total Quality Logistics: Moves more than 3,500 different types of products for customers, from seafood to machinery.

▪ From Aquesta Bank: Launched by local residents in 2006, this Cornelius-based bank added branches during tough economic times.

▪ And TransUnion, the Chicago-based information services company with an office in Charlotte, described its reach this way: 4,100 employees, 38 offices, 1 billion consumer files, 30 petabytes of information.

What’s interesting about your company’s story? Let us know. Nominations are still open for the Charlotte Observer’s 2016 Top Workplaces program. The Observer will feature the region’s best employers in our special report, which will publish Sept. 25.

Workplaces must be located in this eight-county region: Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg and Union in North Carolina, and Lancaster and York in South Carolina.

To conduct the survey, we’re teaming with WorkplaceDynamics, a research firm that conducts surveys for more than 40 newspapers, and surveyed nearly 2.5 million employees at more than 6,000 organizations last year.

WorkplaceDynamics will contact nominated businesses and ask to reach out to employees with a short, 22-question survey. Companies will be surveyed through May.

The nomination deadline for our 2016 report is May 20.
