This Top Workplace provides the wheels that make Coca-Cola go

Being named to last year’s Top Workplaces program gave Red Classic workers a chance to take what could be called a truck selfie.

Standing outside their Charlotte headquarters, employees showed their team spirit posing in front of a truck and 53-foot trailer used for regional deliveries – a scene that helped the distribution, logistics and freight company tell its story. Wholly owned by Charlotte-based Coca-Cola Consolidated, the company delivers Coke products and works as an independent commercial transportation business, with the goal of keeping 50 percent of its trucks running all the time.

“Not only is everyone really friendly and easy to work with, I also love being a part of a growing company,” one worker wrote in last year’s survey. “I love learning new things and feeling like I am an essential part of the company I work for. I also really love how they show appreciation for what you do.”

Make sure your company is included in The Charlotte Observer’s 2016 Top Workplaces program. Nominate your company by Web or phone.

The Observer will feature the region’s best employers in our special report, which will publish Sept. 25.

Workplaces must be in this eight-county region: Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg and Union in North Carolina, and Lancaster and York in South Carolina.

To conduct the survey, we’re teaming with WorkplaceDynamics, a research firm that conducts surveys for more than 40 newspapers, and surveyed nearly 2.5 million employees at more than 6,000 organizations last year.

WorkplaceDynamics will contact nominated businesses and ask to reach out to employees with a short, 22-question survey. Companies will be surveyed through May.

The nomination deadline for our 2016 report is May 20.

You can nominate your workplace at http://www.charlotteobserver.com/nominate or by calling 704-954-8760.
