If you want to go to next year’s PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club, it’s time to register for tickets.
The PGA Championship on Tuesday officially launched the registration process that is the first step toward buying tickets for the first golf major ever held in Charlotte.
Fans can visit www.pgachampionship.com to hold their place to buy tickets when they go on sale in August 2016, the PGA Championship said. The online registration is free and comes with no obligation to purchase tickets for the event, which will be held Aug. 7-13, 2017.
The earlier fans register the better chance they have of getting the tickets they want, officials said. Historically, the most popular tickets have sold out in advance of past PGA Championships.

Tickets range from $30 per day for practice rounds (Monday through Wednesday) to $95 per day for rounds during the championship (Thursday to Sunday).
The tournament also sells a weekly package for $295 that includes tickets for every day. A $600 package includes tickets for the week, plus entry to the Wanamaker Club, an air-conditioned, sports-bar-like location on the course.
The PGA Championship is already selling hospitality venues for the event, and sales have been strong, according to 2017 tournament director Jason Mengel. More than 100 companies are expected to host guests during the competition.
“The support we’ve received from Charlotte is unprecedented as our corporate hospitality sales have outpaced any previous PGA Championship to date,” Mengel said. “We anticipate a similar demand for tickets, which is why we’re advising fans to register as early as possible.”
Adults who buy tickets will be able to bring up to four children under the age of 17 onto the grounds for free each day. No registration is necessary.
All U.S. active duty, military retirees, active reserve, National Guard, Department of Defense civilians and accompanying spouse are also eligible to receive complimentary daily grounds tickets by presenting their military ID at the admission and will call offices during the tournament, the PGA Championship said.
Quail Hollow Club has been the host for the Wells Fargo Championship and predecessor tournaments since 2003. But that event will move to Wilmington next year to make way for the PGA Championship, one of four major championships on the pro golf calendar.
