Nucor CEO receives Steelmaker of the Year award

Nucor CEO John Ferriola has received the Association for Iron & Steel Technology’s Steelmaker of the Year award, the Charlotte-based company said Tuesday.

Ferriola is only the second two-time recipient of the award, having also received the honor in 2009.

“John has successfully guided Nucor through tremendously challenging times for the steel industry,” said Ron Ashburn, executive director of AIST. “Under his leadership, the company has continued to grow and expand into new product areas.”

Ferriola has been CEO of the Charlotte steel-maker since 2013 and chairman since 2014.
