H&M opens in Carolina Place mall

Swedish apparel retailer H&M opened its second Charlotte-area store at Carolina Place Mall Thursday, with hundreds of shoppers lined up and waiting for free gift cards and the chance to shop.

The company opened its first Charlotte store last year in a former Borders bookstore at Northlake Mall. H&M is working on its third Charlotte store in SouthPark mall, next to the Macy’s store. The company hasn’t set an opening date for that location yet. Ely Portillo
