Charlotte to host conference on Carolinas-Africa energy ties
African and U.S. energy policy officials and executives will meet in Charlotte for a three-day conference in October hosted by E4 Carolinas, the trade association for Carolinas energy companies.
The Carolinas’ energy sector is becoming a leading source of services, products and project development in sub-Saharan Africa. The Oct. 4-6 “Energizing Africa through Partnerships” conference will focus on those opportunities and development partnerships.
Speakers will include Girma Birru, the Ethiopian ambassador to the U.S. and former Duke Energy CEO Jim Rogers, who has written on bringing electricity to undeveloped parts of the world.
