SunTrust Banks names new president for the Charlotte area
SunTrust Banks on Friday named a new president for the Charlotte region.
The Atlanta-based regional lender said it promoted Jenna Kelly to the role overseeing commercial and business banking operations in the Charlotte region. Kelly was already working in Charlotte for SunTrust’s corporate and investment banking unit, SunTrust Robinson Humphrey.
Kelly replaces Bill Peele, who had filled the position since 2010. SunTrust announced in April that Peele had left the company, but it has not provided additional details.
Kelly will officially assume her new role June 1.
SunTrust is the sixth-largest bank by deposits in the Charlotte metropolitan area, according to the latest market-share data from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
